Kit Mayer has been making music since coming to the La Crosse area in the late ’70s. Working in groups, duets and as a solo artist, he helped found the bands Blind Baby Olin & the Workbenches, Jawbone and most recently The Mayer Brothers Band – all of which emphasized originality in both style and songwriting. Kit's style of songwriting and production is firmly rooted in the world of Americana music.
His latest album, Everyday Road is his first recorded with his new band The Pack featuring Jeff Sherin on lead guitar, Mark Denny on bass and Paul Herber on drums and backing vocals. Released Aug. 1, 2023, it includes 10 new original songs and was engineered and mastered by Momentous artist Brett Huus. Also featured on the album: Mark Davini (keyboards), Josh Rabie (fiddle), Mike Stidolph (pedal steel) and vocalists Karen Lee and Dodie Whitaker.
Other releases on Momentous include Stone's Throw, Sporting Life and the 2024 single The Message That You Send (Putin Khulo). Kit's original songs also appear on the 2017 Momentous release Stay Out of the Rain by the Mayer Brothers Band.
